Miltos Pitsos, MD
Dr. Pitsos was born and raised on the island of Chios. After graduating the high school, he took the national exams and he was accepted in the Medical School University of Athens. Following his graduation, he obtained a PhD position in the Department of Histology and Embryology of the Medical SchoolUniversity of Athens.
He developed a research project in the field of Embryology and his thesis was entitled “Study of the DNA and tubulin in the human unfertilized oocytes and preimplantation embryos with the confocal laser scanning microscope”. The thesis was evaluated with “Excellent”. It is the first research study which was undergone in Greece using this type of microscope and its findings were published internationally. Results of his PhD thesis and other research projects have been announced in international medical conferences, and published in medical journals and books. After obtaining his PhD degree, he was accepted in the USA to do his residency in obstetrics and gynecology. He completed his residency at the University of New Jersey (UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ – USA). The residency program has one of the highest volumes of patients in the USA. Therefore, he is very well trained in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology including, infertility, assisted reproduction, laparoscopic surgery, operative hysteroscopy, high risk pregnancy, colposcopy, urogynecology.
