Dr. Mantzavinos was born and raised in Athens. He graduated with many awards the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation – Athens College. He took the national exams and he was accepted in the Medical School University of Athens. He graduated in 2002.
Following his graduation, he completed his residency in the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Athens in Aretaieion Hospital. Aretaieion Hospital is a University Hospital, where thousands of medical students are trained. The 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is an accredited European Training Centre in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the European Board & College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology – EBCOG. Therefore, he is very well trained in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology including, infertility, assisted reproduction, laparoscopic – hysteroscopic surgery, gynaecologic oncology - colposcopy, urogynecology, high risk pregnancy.
During his residency, he was in charge of the training of medical students.
He is currently conducting his thesis, entitled “Anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) as a prognostic marker for the achievement of pregnancy in in vitro fertilization programmes”.
